Is this course state approved to earn an Oklahoma learner’s permit?
Yes. All American Safety Council traffic courses are state-approved. If you are over 15 years old, you may take this Oklahoma Driver’s Education course to earn your learner permit.
What are the benefits of taking an online driver’s education course?
Taking an online course is beneficial because of both the convenience of being able to learn anywhere and also being able to learn according to your schedule. The American Safety Council’s Oklahoma Driver’s Ed Course ensures that the student will get the best education available online, with their 24/7 student support center, for any questions the student may have while taking each module.
What steps need to be taken to begin the course?
Parents must first obtain the Parent-Taught Driver Education booklet, then submit an affidavit for approval by the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety. Once that has been submitted, the parent and student may start their behind-the-wheel training.
What is considered a passing grade on the final exam?
Students must earn a 70% or higher in order to pass the driver’s education course. Each module has a quiz that needs to be passed in order to move onto the next module. You are given unlimited tries to pass each quiz with a 70%, and then must pass the final exam with a 70% as well, with three attempts to pass the final exam.
What happens if the exam is not passed?
A student is able to take the test up to three times in order to pass the final exam. If the student has not passed the Oklahoma Driver’s Ed exam in the allotted three tries, then they may re-register for the class.
How much time does a student have to complete the course?
The Oklahoma Parent-Taught Driver’s Education course must be completed within 180 days.
What happens after the course is completed?
If the final exam has been passed, and the course is complete, the student may download the certificate of completion to present to the department of motor vehicles, to apply for a learner’s permit or a driver’s license, whichever the student is eligible for.
